The FA has ruled out any chance of Team GB men?s football entering a side for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 while the women?s chances are ?unlikely? amid fears about joining up the home nations again. The FA general secretary Alex Horne said it is ?unlikely? a GB women?s team will compete at Rio and completely ruled out the possibility of the men ever playing again. ?Within the men?s game, it?s not going to happen again,? Horne told the Times. ?On the women?s side I?m going to say it?s unlikely, for the same reason. ?But you can understand why it?s more compelling ? Olympic football for women is the pinnacle.? Team GB captain Ryan Giggs along with fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy were criticised for refusing to sing the national anthem, causing uproar among some fans. Others saw it as wrong that not one Scottish player was represented in Stuart Pearce?s selection and now the FA have decided to avoid all that trouble and not enter a team for Rio.
